GARDEN STATE CAT CLUB OF NEW JERSEY, INC.
OUR CAT EXPO / SHOW AND EVENTS SCHEDULE
EXPO Overview:
The Garden State Cat Club celebrates its 74th anniversary with its third CAT EXPO. The Expo is designed to educate the cat owning public about cats, cat care, new products and training, while assisting area shelters with its Adopt-A-Cat. The event will be complimented by the club's annual cat show. One of the top five cat shows held in the United States, it is the largest in the Northeast. We believe that our proposed activities will draw the general public to the CAT EXPO and also inform and educate them about the world of cats. The Adopt-A-CAT and show have a history of drawing many visitors from the New York-New Jersey Metro area and all of the Mid-Atlantic States. Exhibitors come from across the United States with most from the East Coast. Over two days between 2,500- 5,000 people have attended the show. Based on our past experience and with the event expanded to a CAT EXPO, we hope to have well over 5,000 this year.
CAT EXPO: The EXPO will present activities and seminars that will educate the pet owner; encourage children to own, love, and care for cats; and discuss keys to successful feral cat colonies. The following is a brief outline of projected activities:

We offer services such as dog walking, dog and puppy training, cat visits, sleepovers and demonstrations on Pet First Aid and CPR. The health and safety of the pets we care for is our number one priority, which is why Pet First Aid and CPR is so important. Knowing what to do in an emergency, such as stopped breathing or no heartbeat, could mean the difference between life and death to a pet. It is important to act quickly and calmly in these situations and education is the key. Shelter Stars Show: To bring attention to the shelter cats who are available for adoption, there is a judging each day, and show attendees enjoy the presentations for the best whiskers, longest tail, etc.
Parade of Breeds: Emcee CFA Judge Judy Thomas presents many of the recognized pedigreed cat breeds to the public. She entertains her audience with information about each breed's distinguishing characteristics, their personalities and unique needs. Judy also talks about the patterns and types of cat coats that may be seen in rescues, household pets, and in pedigreed cats.
MEOW MALL: Vendors showcasing cat trees, litter, cat foods, toys, grooming supplies, and cat-themed gifts abound. Over 40 vendors were present each of the past several years. The show is a great place to find special items for cats or the “purr-fect” gift for cat lovers.
Cat Show: Watch pedigreed cats and household pets compete for rosettes. Many of the cats shown here will go on to be regional and national winning cats.
ANOTHER NEW HIGHLIGHT!
Bring your cat club, shelter or other group's LOGOS to the Garden State CatExpo/Show and have them heat pressed or embroidered onto a T-shirt for yourself or onto a cat collar AND make money for an organization at the same time! See following details form Hoops and Stitches:
For the Garden State Cat Club, members, shelters, and other interested groups, from every pet collar that this vendor sells she will donate $1.00
back to the group who referred the customer to her.. Certificates will be available at the show for this and the next offer.
Hoops will also donate $2.00 for every T- shirt sold to the group whose logo appears on the shirt.
What they will need from everyone is a clear copy of their logo emailed to hoopsandstitchesforu@gmail.com. These can also be brought to the show. The logo can instantly be put on a T- shirt at the show as a heat transfer. Embroidery takes a little longer because pictures need to be turned into thread which can not be done on site, but can be ordered and shipped. This is a great way for groups to make some extra money for their cause without putting forth any initial investment. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Michelle Peverellee
at Hoops at the email address above, or you can call 609-202-0405.
